Kiln-Fired Dichroic Glass Pendants with Lynn Haust @ The Craft Center at the League of NH Craftsmen HQ
May 17 @ 1:00 pm – May 18 @ 4:00 pm

Melting glass is fun and addictive! This fast paced class will give you a chance to explore kiln-fired glass and many techniques that make melting glass so exciting. You will use dichroic, transparent and opaque glass on a base of clear or black Bullseye glass to create designs that feature the depth and sparkle of dichroic techniques.  You will also have the opportunity to experiment with glass frit, mica powders and other inclusions. In the second session, after the glass is full fused, you will cold work the glass to create the finished pendants. This workshop will also cover safety considerations, firing instructions and cold working. Due to time constraints of the annealing process, you will need to pick up your pendants after the second session.

PLEASE NOTE THE THURS CLASS ENDS AT 3:00 PM AND THE FRI CLASS ENDS AT 4:00 PM.

Fused Glass Landscapes with Lynn Haust @ The Craft Center at the League of NH Craftsmen HQ
May 19 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Explore the world of melted glass in a fast-paced mini workshop that introduces the glass student to the techniques, materials and equipment used to create a beautiful glass landscape. Create an original work using a selection of beautiful glass colors in sheet, various sizes of frit, stringers and a variety of kiln techniques. Many fused glass landscape examples and techniques will be on display. Arrive early to check out the possibilities! Safety, kiln firing, glass cutting and cold working techniques will be covered. An information packet will be included. Resources for more advanced workshops and equipment/supplies will be provided. We will be using Bullseye glass and various glass equipment to cut, grind and shape your glass. Come prepared to work hard and have fun! All materials are included. Beginners welcome!

Please bring a sketch, photo or an idea for your work. The pieces will be rectangular or square in shape. Circular shapes are possible, but harder to cut. I can show you how! Your finished piece will be approximately 10×6 or 8×8, for example. Realistic images might be hard to replicate in glass so a flexible attitude is helpful!
