Spotlight on a Gallery – Littleton

When the Littleton League Gallery opened in November 2004, most juried craftspeople said “Where is Littleton?”  Now, going into our 13th year we are definitely on the map.

The Littleglass-shelveston Gallery is located at 81 Main Street in the center of downtown,  in the beautiful White Mountain Region. With a busy summer and autumn season behind us, we are looking forward to the holidays.

Beth Simon is the owner and manager of the Littleton Gallery as well as a state juried craftsperson. Beth has long been involved in the Northern NH craft community and being able to showcase and sell the work of League craftspeople is important to her. So many customers come in and say “you are so lucky to work here with all this incredible craftwork and in a beautiful light filled gallery.” She does agree but to her the best part of the job is visiting craftsmen in their studios.   “It is exciting to see the creative process and to better understand the depth of the artists work.”

The Littleton Gallery is open 7 days a week and customer service is paramount to the success of the gallery. As one customer said “You can wait till the last minute when you know you can come here and find a great gift”.

You can always find out what is happening at the gallery by going to our website or if you can’t make it to Littleton, find a selection of work online.

Coming up on Nov 4th will be a Kick – Off Party for NH Open Doors weekend and The Littleton Area Chamber of Commerce special BFF Getaway promotion.  There will be food tastings from local restaurants and a jewelry demonstration by an instructor from Littleton Studio School. Find out more about this event.

pottery-classOn Saturday November 5th from 11–3pm as part of NH Open Doors, the gallery will host League juried craftsperson Sara Dejardin who will be demonstrating the process of needle felting. Sara creates incredibly realistic, lifelike sculptures, drawing her inspiration from Mother Nature.

As part of the League educational mission the Littleton Studio School was created in 2008 and is located close to the gallery. The school has a dedicated pottery and metals/jewelry studio and classes in painting, drawing and basketry are also offered.  The current class schedule can be found here.
